Rules

1. Competition
1.1. Pole Art Bulgaria is a international Pole Dance competition.
2. Organizer
2.1. Organizer of the competition is studio Pole Dance Bulgaria.
3. Dates

3.1. The competition will take place on March 20th, 2021.

3.2. Rehearsals for the competition will be held on March 19th, 2021.

3.3. Detailed program will be announced on the official website of the competition and in social media.

4. Location
4.1. The competition will take place in Sofia, on the stage of “Cinema theatre Osvobojdenie”, Knyaginya Mariya-Luiza Blvd 106, 1233 ZIP cod.
5. Categories and Requirements to Applicants

5.1. The requirement to form a category is 5 participants minimum.

5.2. The jury reserves the right to change Contestant’s category according to the video entry.

5.3. Categories

5.3.1. Women International Elite

  1. Pole dancing for 2+ years
  2. If you have previously attended or won any elite competitions (in any category)

5.3.2. Men International Elite

  1. Pole dancing for 2+ years
  2. If you have previously attended or won any elite competitions (in any category)

5.3.3. Doubles International Elite

  1. Pole dancing for 2+ years
  2. If you have previously attended or won any elite competitions (in any category)
  3. Doubles can also be mixed – male / female.

5.3.4. Women International Semi-Pro

  1. Pole dancing for 2-5 years.
  2. If you have attended competitions but never won (amateur category placement not counted)

5.3.5. Men International Semi-Pro

  1. Pole dancing for 2-5 years
  2. If you have attended competitions but never won (amateur category placement not counted)

5.3.6. Doubles International Semi-Pro

  1. Pole dancing for 2-5 years
  2. If you have attended competitions but never won (amateur category placement not counted)
  3. Doubles can also be mixed – male / female.

5.3.7. Women International Amateur

  1. Pole dancing for 1-2 years
  2. Must not be an instructor
  3. No handsprings and deadlifts

5.3.8. Men International Amateur

  1. Pole dancing for 1-2 years
  2. Must not be an instructor
  3. No handsprings and deadlifts

5.3.9. Doubles International Amateur

  1. Pole dancing for 1-2 years
  2. Must not be an instructors
  3. No handsprings and deadlifts
  4. Doubles can also be mixed – male / female.

5.3.10. Masters (40+) International

  1. Pole dancing 2+ years
  2. Contestants 40+ years of age

5.3.11. Junior

  1. Pole dancing 1+ years
  2. Contestants 15-17 years of age

5.3.12. Junior

  1. Pole dancing 1+ years
  2. Contestants 8-14 years of age.
6. Requirements and rules

6.1. The competition is open to participants from Bulgaria and abroad .as well as dance schools, studios, representatives of organizations and others.

6.2. The participant must be at least 18 years of age;

6.3. If the candidate is under the age of 18, he / she can apply for participation only under the following conditions:

6.3.1. Be at the age of 8;

6.3.2. Provide a declaration with parental consent.  here.

6.4. Before and during the time of the Competition, contestants are not allowed to use drugs and psychotropic substances that affect the mind consciousness, as well as any prohibited stimulants and steroids;

6.5. Each participant confirms that he / she is familiar with the rules.

                    * Any violation of this policy will be punished by immediate disqualification

7. Registration and participation fees

7.1. Each candidate must register through the registration form on the official page of the competition and pay a participation fee;

7.2. The fee for participation of an individual competitor is 40 EUR, for duets – 50 EUR, juniors 25 EUR.

7.3. If candidate’s application is not approved, the fee will be fully refunded to their bank account by the organizer via bank transfer.

7.4. In case of disqualification due to a violation of the rules by a contestant admitted to participation, the fee will not be refunded by the organizer.

7.5. Registration deadline is 23:59 h on 20th December 2020

7.6. Finalists will be announced within 14 days after the registration platform is closed.

7.7. Payment: PayPal account – poleartbg@gmail.com. In case of refusal the fee not be refunded.  

8. Registration documents

8.1. Correctly completed registration form.

8.2. Copy of payment order.

8.3. Link to video on YouTube.

8.4. On the day of the rehearsal upon registration, applicants must submit a copy and original of a valid personal document – ID card, passport, driver’s license.

8.5. All contestants must complete a participation statement provided by the organizer or downloaded from the official site on the day of the rehearsal upon registration. here

8.6. Each approved candidate undertakes to make and submit to the organizers a valid health insurance. 

9. Video

9.1. The application video must have a minimum duration of 2 minutes and 20 seconds.

9.2. The video should show the skills of the candidate on static and spinning Pole, presented in the form of a continuous clip in a single frame.

9.3. Videos that have been processed with after effects will not be reviewed by the organizer.

9.4. All videos must be uploaded in YouTube by the participants and submitted to the organizers in the form of a link.

10. Music

10.1. Only the approved candidates should send music in MP3 format, no later than 23:59 h on January 31st, 2021.

10.2. The length of a song must be at least 3 minutes and no more than 3:30 minutes. The songs for Duets and Elite category can be at least 4 minutes and no more than 4:30 long.

10.3. Songs with extreme vulgar lyrics that are incitement to violence or discrimination will not be allowed.

10.4. In case of duplication of songs and arrangements, contestant who sent in the application first, gets the privilege of performing it.

10.5. On the day of the Competition the contestants have to provide the Organizers, at registry desk, with music of choice recorded on CD.

11. Costumes
 11.1. Participants are not allowed to appear with erotic lingerie or swimsuit.

11.2. Any form of eroticism, striptease and nudity will be punished with immediate discrimination.

11.3. Latex suits; gloves, straps and boots are not allowed.

11.4. All accessories must be tailored to the comfort and safety of the participants and should not interfere with their performance.

11.5.  Ballet shoes, jazz and other dance shoes are allowed during the performance only if they do not endanger the safety of both the competitor and spectators.

11.6. It is also allowed to use body art, tattoos and stage make-up, as long as it doesn’t endanger other contestants, doesn’t grease the poles and leaves no lasting marks on the scene.

12. Requirements for the combination (performance)

12.1. The performance must be built on two poles – static and dynamic, with an approximate ratio of 50/50 shown by the participant to the time allowed by the regulation, including transitions and dancing elements.

12.2. The combinations do not allow erotic gestures, as well as the use of sharp objects, liquids, flammable liquids, pyro effects and other dangerous objects and substances, endangering both the performer and the rest of the audience.

12.3. Approved candidates must submit a short presentation of their performance up to 100 words. (Along with the music in time no later than 23:59 h on January 31st, 2021.)

12.4. Candidates who have the desire and ability to illustrate their performance with background video should provide a Mp4 file, HD resolution, 1920×1080 px, 16:9 (video and music in one file). Screen size 6.00×4.00 meters. (Along with the music and the short presentation in time no later than 23:59 h on June 16th, 2020.)

12.5. Candidates can choose the colors of the stage lights during their performance. Possible: white, yellow, red, green, blue, purple, orange or a combination thereof (Along with the music, video and the short presentation in time no later than 23:59 h on January 31st, 2021.)

12.6. If any of the above rules are ignored this will be followed by taking out points of the scoring card or disqualification.

13. Allowed and forbidden products

13.1. The usage of any lubricating lotions, creams and oils that can damage the surface of the poles or make it slippery and endanger the performer and the rest of the contestants are forbidden during the competition and the day before.

13.2. The use of grip-improving cosmetic products such as Mighty Grip, Itac 2, Dry Hands, Chalk, Liquid chalk, Talc, Liquid talc is allowed.

* It is forbidden to use any other products except those mentioned above.

14. Stage

14.1. 2 poles – static and spinning with diameter of 45 mm.

14.2. Facing towards the stage, the left pole is static and the right one is spinning

14.3. Distance between the two poles: 3 meters

14.4. Distance from the poles to the end of the stage: 2 meters

14.5. Distance from the poles to the back of the stage: 8 meters

15. Jury and judging
15.1. The jury will judge contestants from 1-10 points.

15.2. The final score of the competitor is formed by the sum of the competitor’s marks, divided by the number of jury members.

15.3. The results are ranked from ascending to descending order. The best result wins first place, followed by second and third.

15.4. The judges aren’t obliged to comment on the marks they give to the contestant. Judges make the final decision.

15.5. Judges can stop the performance at any time if they think the contestant is at health risk or is having safety problems, or if the contestant doesn’t obey the rules.

15.6. It‘s not allowed for contestants to remain in any contact with Members of Jury before the Competition and during the Competition. In case of any hesitation the contestants must contact the Organizers or person assigned by Organizer to stay in contact with contestants.

16. Assessment
16.1.  Scoring and evaluation criteria can be found here.
16.2. Re-run

16.2.1. The performance cannot be repeated if it will be stopped by the contestant after the first minute of the presentation without a serious reason.

16.2.2. The performance can be repeated if a technical reason occurs:

– Technical problems with the facility – construction, poles, etc.;

– Technical problems with media – music, lighting, video projection;

17. Rights of the organizer
17.1. The Organizer reserve the right to grant special prizes as they see it fit.

17.2. To record the championship and have all the rights to distribute the material

17.3. Organizers don’t take responsibility for the loss of things of the contestants on the day of the competition.

17.4. The organizers reserve right to change rules & regulations at any time, by notifying the participants, giving their arguments to them about the changes made.

18. Order
18.1. The order of each contestant’s performance will be drawn by the organizer.

18.2. The lists with the order will be published on the official site and social media of Pole Art Bulgaria.

19. Gala Show
19.1. All rules of the competition apply to performers who wish to register for the gala show.

19.2. Participants in the Gala Show will be selected by the Organizer.

19.3. Winning the competition in any of the categories does not guarantee participation in the gala show.

19.4. The number and names of the artists in the gala show will be announced along with the competition program. Preference is given to contestants.
